To who it may concern,
Thats right, all you fuckers. You really hung me out to dry didnt you. Bet you thought you were smart, letting me become leader when we were sucked in by Bertie. You even sent me a congratulations card. You bastards! You knew what you were doing. I was your sacrificial lamb, or in Trevors case, sacrificial carrot. All i wanted to do was get a bit of respect and get well paid. Is that too much to ask for? Is it!?!
You were all laughing at me behind my back. Remember that time you told me that I should invite Bertie to my tofu and classical painters night? Bet you had a good laugh about that didnt you? I know Bertie bloody did.
Screw you all. Im leaving. Ive got a better offer now. Im going to Broadway. Thats right. There making a play about my life. So screw you all. Whos laughing now?

Battle for Democracy?

Yesterday you declared war on the fourth largest country in Africa.

Whats that? You didn't start any wars yesterday. You want to know what preposterous nonsense this is?

Yesterday, on the back of United Nations (To which Ireland actively belongs) resolution 1970, several UN big guns, namely France and England, began bombing targets in Libya. They did so in the name of democracy. They did so in your name.

But are they acting on behalf of noble democracy? Do they have the best interests of the Libyan people at heart?

Resolution 1970 has been presented as the only way to save Libya and its civilians. How does a bill that allows Western powers a free hand to whatever they want, bar permanent occupation, help the people of Libya?

It cant, but it might help the west maintain and increase their dominance in one of the ten richest oil producing nations in the world. high oil revenues and a small population give Libya one of the highest GDPs per capita in Africa. Libya lies in North Africa, an area now being dubbed the southern states of the EU bu some confident Eurocrats.

Is this "International Intervention" about preserving democratic principals or saving an endangered population? Or is it about deposing on regime that's become unstable and replacing it with another one that will play ball, as oppose to a bunch of revolutionaries?

One things for certain, only you can tell the rest of the world that these people are not dropping bombs on hospitals in your name.

The Blueshirt Lullaby

Chorus
Oh go to sleep my little Blueshirt,
No longer any need to shout and cry,
For Endas army have taken over,
Thats the Blueshirt Lullaby.

Ever since you were a little baby,
You dreamed of that supreme power,
To cut and terrorise the people,
Now is the Blueshirt hour.

Now is the time to raise all taxes,
And to raise the level of national hurt,
Theyll learn to fear this new government,
They'll learn the meaning of Blueshirt.

Chorus

To hell or Limerick with all begrudgers,
Off with the heads of those who moan,
One day you'll die and go to your heaven,
And you'll find Garret Fitzgerald on the throne,

Chorus
(Repeat until arrested or until Enda comes on the telly)

Original Pecker Dunne song. Rumours that Enda is an illegimite member of the travelling community remain uncomfirmed.

Kenny invites Obama to Ireland

US president Barack Obama today said he planned to visit Ireland in May after holding discussions with the Taoiseach on how Ireland will recover from its economic difficulties.

President Obama said he and Mr Kenny had an “excellent conversation”.

"We talked about PlayStation, girls and our shared love of Jackass the movie," President Obama said, "Before I met Enda, I thought he looked like an imbecile but hes actually cool. He told me all about how he overcame adversity in his native Mayo to form the very first Eoin O Duffy and the Blueshirts tribute band in the 1960's. He also promised to send me the new John Deere calender when he gets home. I cant wait."

For his part, the Taoiseach returned the kind words and declared that Obama was very welcome.

"Well we have the Queen coming that month already," The Taoiseach said, "so that's my spare room gone, but I asked Fionnula and she said its ok for myself and Barack to sleep in the sitting room if we promise not to make too much noise and not to prank call the Green party. I hoping to show the President that Ireland is still a great place. I plan on bringing him to copperface jacks for some culture and fun. My cousin has a combine harvester and he said Barack could sit with him in it for a while. I also want to let him meet Garret Fitzgerald. We'll have to unfreeze him that weekend anyway with the queen being here."

When asked if he thought that President Obamas visit might help the Irish economy, Mr Kenny said, "What?"

Doctor James O' Reilly's Hole

I wonder did our new health minister, Dr James O' Reilly read last weeks Sunday World?

First of all it revealed that Doctor O' Reilly was actually quite rich. I would never have guessed. I thought that Jag he was driving was standard for Fine Gael members.

Apparently theres a nice buck to make from being a GP/TD. Doctor O' Reilly owns a substantial amount of business interests including much of the Lusk town centre complex, an old folk's home and several rental accommodations. Nice.

Sunday World columnist Paddy Murphy also had a crack at O' Reilly about his unwavering support for the development of the Metro North, which Murphy claims only interests O' Reilly because its in his own constituency.

Murphy stated;
"He (O' Reilly) says construction would create 5,000 jobs. It won't
The longest tunnel in the world has just been completed in Switzerland. It created 2,000 jobs.
When complete, he says, it will 'create 37,000 jobs' in Fingal. It won't. It's a €6bn ego trip."

Ah well Doc, at least they didnt mention the way you claimed more than €32,000 in Dail expenses in 2009. Thats an average of €1,800 a month – for travel and subsistence despite having a home in Rush, just 18 miles from Dáil Éireann.

Opps.
