Honohan claims to know more about economics than Morgan Kelly!!!

THE governor of the Central Bank, Patrick Honohan, has claimed that Morgan Kelly, the professor of economics who has correctly predicted Ireland's slip into doomsday recession, knows less about economics than him and, had we followed Kelly's plan to save the nation we would now be bankrupt.

mmmm.....

Half a million unemployed.

Thousands of our citizens emigrating.

Extreme austerity measures and more to come.

An even greater gulf between the rich and the poor, as the government decide that ordinary citizens should pay for their mistakes.

Yes, Honohan is obviously right, look how well hes done so far. Isn't it lucky we didn't listen to Kelly? The country might actually be on the road to recovery by now if we had.

Referendum on Scottish Independence?

A referendum on Scottish Independence might now be imminent after the Scottish National Partys good showing in the Scottish parliamentary elections.

The SNP now look to have won a good majority, getting past the half-way point by taking 65 seats. It now looks likely that Alex Salmond's party will be able to announce a long awaited referendum on Scotland's independence from Britain.

Following the “historic” win, Salmond said the days of Labour dominance in central Scotland are “gone forever.”  The SNP victory brought Labour its worst election in the past 80 years forcing nine Labour MSPs who were at Holyrood from its inception in 1999 out of the parliament. The SNP also infiltrated impenetrable Labour bastions by winning constituencies in Glasgow while it won seats in the capital Edinburgh for the first time.
